Marcus Walters is one of the UK’s foremost screen print artists and illustrators. His artworks are created by printing layers of drawing, collage and hand cut typography on top of each other. Simple graphic shapes, vibrant colours and optimistic sentiments are trademarks of Marcus’s work and as these images build up and collide they provide newshapes, colours and forms. The relationships between these elements create alternativenarratives, sometimes juxtaposing. The resulting images are non- linear, multi-layered compositions that are enduring and unique.
Marcus’s artwork has a direct link to his career as a commercial illustrator and designer. As co-founder of design studio New Future Graphic he has produced work for Levis, BBC& Amnesty International, amongst others. Marcus’s illustration work has been commissionedby Honda, Uniqlo, Innocent Smoothies, New York Times and Monocle magazine. Marcus maintains his hand crafted approach throughout often using collage, drawing and printing to create his illustration. He currently works between his studio in Gloucestershire and design studio based in London.
